Attention College Seniors and Recent College Graduates!
JobSearch Bootcamp Is for You!

We are offering JobSearch Bootcamp, a 4 day/20 hour workshop specifically designed to help college seniors and recent college graduates who are entering today’s difficult job market. The workshops will help participants develop effective resumes, introductory speeches, interviewing, networking and telephone skills.  Bootcamps will begin in June.

JobSearch Bootcamp is designed to meet the needs of new entrants into the job market.  College seniors and recent grads are competing for the same jobs as more experienced job hunters, and they need the skills necessary to meet this competition.  That means developing resumes that focus on skills and achievements that are meaningful to potential employers.  It means being able to introduce yourself with confidence and clarity.  Job hunters need to understand the principles of networking and how to become an effective networker.  And once an opportunity to interview for a position happens, candidates need to know how to make an impression that gets them the job and seals the deal!

JobSearch Bootcamp will provide hands-on training in each of these areas.  Led by Stanley Witkow, participants will work on their own resumes and also peer-review each other's.  Each will have ample time to perfect his elevator speech and get real-time feed back on its effectiveness.  Participants will learn how to find effective opportunities to network, how to get "informational" networking appointments and how to get the most out of a networking event.

This is bootcamp and not for the faint of heart!  There will be real homework assignments and participants should come prepared to work!  We'll expect all attendees to bring their current resumes and be prepared to introduce themselves and state their job search objectives in a 30-second "elevator" speech.

We believe that key component of a successful search is participation in a peer support group.  Finding a first job in today's environment is a difficult one and job seekers need to know that they and their peers are encountering the same challenges and roadblocks.  Developing a network to share and compare experiences is an important element of the search process.  We expect that these workshops will result in the development of supporting relationships that will help the participants long after they graduate from bootcamp!
